The Nechako Valley Food Network Logo artwork was created by Peter B. George.

Peter B. George was born in Smithers, BC and at the age of three moved to Prince George, BC where he still lives. Peter is the son and grandson of hereditary Wet'suwet'en Chiefs.

Peter learned his trade from his elders which is the traditional Native way of teaching. He then studied on his own using various resources. Peter is an avid outdoorsman and uses his experiences in nature as a basis for his art.

Peter developed and implemented a Native Art and Culture program in the Prince George School District in 1996 and now teaches First Nations Fine Arts at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George.

In 2000, Peter apprenticed with Master Carver Ron Sebastian, and together they carved the Millennium Unity Pole which stands in front of the Two Rivers Art Gallery in Prince George.

Peter has also done several murals in Prince George including the Prince George Lock and Key building, Carrier Sekani Family Services and South Fort George Family Resources Centre. In 2005 Peter painted one of the Kermode Spirit Bears which is now on display at the CN Centre.
